Lesson one and two, Internet Safety and Reflective Learning.
So, we were introduced to the awesome world of blogger! Wow! Why have I not created an account before?!, I was sat in the lesson thinking, 'hmm.. this sounds rather fun for a seminar..' But not only was this fun, I can totally understand the reason for creating a blogger account. We began our lesson in groups showing a website of our interest, we did this because it enabled us to pick out and show how we could tell that the sights were safe, (or at least showing signs of safety). This is a crucial part to the Educational Studies course, because if you aspire to become a Primary or even Secondary school teacher like myself, then you need to be aware of inappropriate sights and you need to be aware of the danger or dodgy signs in able to prevent as soon as possible, pupils from seeing these. Once we had done the scary standing up to the class scene, we created our blogs that we will be able to write on after every lesson and refer back to.
In the second lesson today, I felt that we had just as fun much as the last session. Today we spoke about 'Reflective Learning', we spoke about it as a class, it was a class discussion. We used the 'Bubble Us' sight which I have already posted up on my blog earlier on this morning. We did a thought shower on what we as a group thought 'Reflective Learning' was and meant. I personally came to the conclusion that 'Reflective Learning' is where you are taught/fed information on a certain subject and you note down what you have learnt/taken in. From there, I save this information onto my wonderful blog page and I can look back, read through, and refer to this information at any point in time. Having this information documented is important because if there was anything I could potentially forget, I can re-read this and that would be the perfect solution to my problem. We also looked at other people's blogs today on the subject of Education, I have picked out 5 blogs that I feel are interesting and I am going to post in due course. I found this session interesting because it has taught me the importance of 'Reflective Learning' and how it can help you remember information, edit information and improve on your work and evaluate it with constructive criticism.

About Me..
So my name is Jocelyn, although most of the time I get called Joss...
Quite a lot of things have happened in my life but there are a few key things that I will never forget...
When I was nine years old, I had open heart bypass surgery due to a faulty mitral valve; I spent over a month in hospital with 6 months out of school in order to recover. My cardiologist told me that he didn’t repair completely my valve as my heart was still growing; he only merely tightened it temporarily. I have been told that it is likely to need another operation when I am older to have a new valve replacement. Although my status so far is currently stable

Another major thing that has happened to me in my life is; when I was ten years old, my family and I migrated to Spain. My parents thought that it would be a better quality of life over there for me after my operation. I was put into a Spanish speaking school and had to pick up the language straight from scratch. Within six months I was fluently speaking the language (although it’s wearing off a tad now). I lived out in the town of Javea for four years until my parents thought it would be better for us to come home for a better education.
From there I went to a normal comprehensive school and continued my education with my A levels and now to Swansea Metropolitan University. I am studying Educational Studies as my aspiration is to become a Primary School teacher and it always has been...
