Quite a lot of things have happened in my life but there are a few key things that I will never forget...
When I was nine years old, I had open heart bypass surgery due to a faulty mitral valve; I spent over a month in hospital with 6 months out of school in order to recover. My cardiologist told me that he didn’t repair completely my valve as my heart was still growing; he only merely tightened it temporarily. I have been told that it is likely to need another operation when I am older to have a new valve replacement. Although my status so far is currently stable
Another major thing that has happened to me in my life is; when I was ten years old, my family and I migrated to Spain. My parents thought that it would be a better quality of life over there for me after my operation. I was put into a Spanish speaking school and had to pick up the language straight from scratch. Within six months I was fluently speaking the language (although it’s wearing off a tad now). I lived out in the town of Javea for four years until my parents thought it would be better for us to come home for a better education.
From there I went to a normal comprehensive school and continued my education with my A levels and now to Swansea Metropolitan University. I am studying Educational Studies as my aspiration is to become a Primary School teacher and it always has been...
